KOMODO DRAGONS, SNORKELLING ON THE ISLANDS AND GREAT ADVENTURE-
In Labuan Bajo it’s possible to organize many one day komodo adventure trips with snorkelling at various places included – a great day adventure or a trip that can last for many days trip that takes you to Komodo, Rinca Island, snorkelling with the manta rays, watching the flight of the flying foxes by the thousands in their nightly ritual flight to the mainland from their home island of Kalong.
You can do this either through the many tour operators in Labuan Bajo at a price per person, usually around Rp350,000 (can sometimes get Rp300,000) for a day trip to see the komodo dragons on Rinca island and snorkel at two other places.
You could also charter one of many types of boats. The price will depend on how many days, how far, how big the boat is and how nice the boat….the Phinisi boat is a beautiful traditional boat with sails.

cat j h2023-11-27Stayed here one-night before our sailing trip, and it was great! Arrived early morning and Suni the host was so welcoming and gracious. He recommended some sites around Labuan Bajo to check out since we had the day, and gave tips on a scooter rental. Breakfast the next day excellent and fresh, and my goodness - the view and sunset from the common area was stunning. Suni even allowed us to hang out at the place after we returned from our trip for a few hours(we were flying out that night). Highly recommended b&b with a wonderful host. Rooms were sizeable and while the door was glass, we were able to sleep soundly even though the place is next door to a restaurant/bar. Would definitely stay again.

La camera è grande, unica mancanza non c’era il phon. Abbiamo prenotato due notti per fare l’escursione al parco nazionale di Komodo, il proprietario è stato davvero molto gentile e servizievole nel prepararci una colazione da portare via alle 5.30 della mattina, ce l’ha preparata sul momento. La notte si sentono le preghiere provenienti da una moschea vicina, ma sono udibili da tutta la zona centrale del paese. In ogni caso siamo rimasti contenti dell’alloggio scelto

Silvia2023-09-11We stayed here both before and after our boat trip in to the Komodo National Park. A great place to stay, it was very clean, bathroom was spacious and towels a were clean, the breakfast was delicious (omelette, toast with cheese and/or strawberry jam, fruit and yogurt with granola). Great sunset view but not directly from our room (there are 3 rooms and only one has the sunset view, like the breakfast area). Great to have a rack outside for the clothes. We also really liked the location of the hotel, just right outside the busier part of Labuan Bajo but still walking distance to all the restaurants. But the rooms are not really soundproofed, as the door is made of glass and doesn’t close hermetically and there is a window in the bathroom that’s too high to close. We heard the mosque at night, but that’s not something you can really avoid anyways!
